The Faroese Horse
One thing we love about living on a farm, is that we get to spend most of our time with animals ❤️
.
Other than sheep, we also have 4 og only 84 critically endangered Faroese Horses - all mares. The good thing about this wonderful breed, is that they are completely kid safe, they don’t scare easily, will tolerate pretty much everything and love the kids as much as the kids love them. Whenever the kids will get close to their pasture they will run to the fence and neigh at them, thereafter the kids go in to give them snuggles and love. As a “mother hen” I am not always completely comfortable with two little girls and big horses, but with time I’ve learned that these horses are just gentle “giants” - although not SO giant, considering they are actually quite small compared to other horses. Alda is the newest member of our flock and our very first foal - we are looking forward to hopefully breed many more in the future and help secure the survival of this marvelous breed 🥰
